Teams of four practitioners have been operating in Sarajevo since 1996, treating nearly 40,000 traumatised and physically wounded citizens.

If you would like to join us please complete an application form and return it to us with the necessary enclosures and your membership fee. If you are a complementary practitioner wishing to volunteer your professional services to Healing Hands, please ensure that you comply with the required enclosures. If your therapy is hands-on, you must hold a qualification in anatomy and physiology. You must also hold professional indemnity insurance and attend a preparatory workshop and interview.

You will need to raise the funds needed to cover your travel, accommodation and subsistence for your two-week tour of duty.This is currently £750 for Sarajevo, which is about half of the actual cost to the charity of sending a therapist to Bosnia.

You will stay in a four bed-roomed house in a pleasant street in the old part of Sarajevo, and work in one of the two well-appointed treatment rooms. We also visit four outlying villages where we work in outreach centres provided by the community.
