HHN at Holistic Health 2011
For the second year running we had a very successful time at Holistic Health 2011 at the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday and Monday, 8th and 9th May.
We had a spacious stand in a good position near the entrance to the Show. It looked fabulous with our colourful displays and some fantastic banners and posters designed and printed by Sue Stretton's son Stu. The stand was manned by Tricia Blaxill and Sue Stretton, with help from Sandra Griffiths and Margaret Williams and members Sue Glazebrook, Cheryl Ball, Fiona Smith, Mandy Gorst, Sandra Lindon, Jenny Newman and Anthony Bayly and supporter Julia Hanley. Between them they talked to hundreds of people about the charity and managed to recruit two new members who signed up and paid their membership fee on the day. We have since recruited another two new members and have contacted over 150 people who left their details, many of whom seemed genuinely interested in joining or supporting us.
Members Sue Heavey, Maggie Chenoweth and Shabdam Bailey-Bond were working in the Chill-Out Zone. As we weren't the Show's designated charity this year we didn't receive money from the COZ, but we were allowed to take our collecting buckets and tins and ask for donations at the entrance to the Hall.
A very big thank you to all our members and friends who gave so much of their time and skills to make the show a success, and especially to Tricia Blaxill and Sue and Steve Stretton who worked so hard to put the stand together and to dismantle it after the show, and to Stu Stretton for his artwork.
Special thanks to Gary Hackett, Managing Director of Guild Press Ltd, organisers of the Show, and our new patron, who donated the stand and gave us so much help to make the Show a success.
