What do we do?
The Healing Hands Network was set up specifically to send volunteer care professionals to work with people suffering from the trauma and terrible consequences of war or disaster.
For example: Since February 1997 teams of four members have worked in Sarajevo, Bosnia - giving over 12,000 treatments.
Teams of Healing Hands volunteers are currently working to bring hands-on relief. Therapies range from Acupuncture to Osteopathy and Aromatherapy to Reiki.
Other members help both at home and abroad with fundraising, publicity and support. Membership is steadily growing both nationally and internationally.
Where are we going?
The Healing Hands Network pioneered its work in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Though no longer much featured in media, the need there is still intense. The ravages of rape, torture, the disappearance of loved ones and the repercussions of landmines are taking a huge toll. Rebuilding is underway but the physical and psychological scars take significantly longer to heal.
